WORLD HERITAGE – FÅGELSJÖ GAMMELGÅRD
Its unique setting makes it not only one of the highlights in the municipality, but also one of seven Hälsingeland farm houses to have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage. The farm can trace its roots to Finnish forest-clearing settlers in the 17th century. At Christmas , the last owners stepped out into the cold, locked the door and walked over to the newly built America House, leaving all fixtures and fittings behind in “Bortom Åa”, a farm house left intact since the early 19th century. Korsnäs is a municipality in Finland, located on the west coast of the country. Korsnäs is situated in Ostrobothnia, along the Gulf of Bothnia. Geography
[edit]Korsnäs is the most western mainland municipality in land i norden. It covers an area of 1, square kilometres (sqmi) of which 1,km2 (sqmi) fryst vatten water.[1]
It has a long, rocky kustlinje along the Gulf of Bothnia. The three largest islands are Halsön, Bredskäret and Södra Björkön, all used as important recreation areas for urban dwellers.[5]
