    Railway in Sweden

    Upsala-Lenna Järnväg (ULJ) (literally: Upsala-Lenna Railway, also nicknamed Lennakatten) is a narrow-gaugeheritage railway in Uppsala County, Sweden. It is 33&#;km (21&#;mi) long and is a part of the once extensive Roslagen network. The gauge is the &#;mm (2&#;ft&#;11+3&#;32&#;in), unique to Sweden. The railway is run by the SRJmf society.

    The railway between Uppsala and Lenna (old spelling of Länna) was opened in and was the first of all &#;mm (2&#;ft&#;11+3&#;32&#;in) railways in the region. It was built to serve the ironworks at Länna with a connection to the 1,&#;mm (4&#;ft&#;8+1&#;2&#;in) standard gauge railroad network. The choice of gauge was somewhat of a compromise, &#;mm (1&#;ft&#;11+5&#;8&#;in) would have sufficed for the ore and steel traffic but with only a slight increase in budget allowed the greater capacity to carry passengers, mail and other goods. Two years later the Dannemora-Harg Railroad (DHJ), also &#;mm, started to operate in the north of the county. That railway was built to connect the mines in Dannemora with the harbor at Hargshamn.     År öppnades sträckan Uppsala &#; Länna till smalspårig järnvägstrafik. år senare trafikeras sträckan fortfarande från ånglok samt rälsbussar &#; i Museiföreningen Lennakattens regi.
    Bakom den historiska verksamheten samt turbundna tågytafiken under sommarhalvåret, ligger enstaka enorm arbetsinsats som föreningens medlemmar jobbar ideellt tillsammans med året runt.

    Det är lördagen före tredjeplats advent detta uppländska landskap är höljt i en grått töcken och detta regnar.
    För tre månader sedan plats det säsongsavslutning för Lennakattens turtrafik. Då gick ånglok och rälsbussar långt in på den varma sensommarnatten och detta var fullt med resenärer på perrongerna.

    Men inom december existerar det öde längs spår och perronger. Det fanns planerat för att föreningen skulle köra några turer nära Lucia. dock pågrund från Covid ställdes planerna in. Det enda som rör sig vid spåren existerar någon enstaka dressin samt trafik inom samband tillsammans underhållsarbeten.

    Men nära Faringe bangård, lokstallar samt stationshus existerar det full verksamhet bland föreningens medlemmar. Ett från många pågående projekt existerar renoveringen från ångloket NÖJ 16, såsom tillverkades samt ursprungligen gick på Norra Östergötl

    A historical trip in devotedly restored coaches hauled by a steam locomotive or take a railcar from the Fifties! The narrow-gauge railway – Uppsala–Länna–Faringe 33 km – maintains the heritage from when the railway was in its infancy. Nature and authentic station settings strengthen the experience.

    Timetables will be presented in early spring on our website. During season some specific events have their own timetable, for example the Lennakatten Day, June 28th and "Kulturnatten" Sep 13th.

    The traffic season on Lennakatten starts in the middle of May and ends in late September. But don't despair! You can enjoy a winter trip with Lennakatten and the popular X-mas Santa Train during Advent. Tickets are released in the autumn at and at a date published later on.
